Accessible Red Runner Transportation: 

Cornell will provide FREE door-to-door transportation via Accessible Red Runner for staff and faculty with disabilities who are participating in university-related activities or taking advantage of the benefits of employment at Cornell. Examples of eligible rides include transportation to and from on-campus meetings, seminars, trainings and wellness programs. This program is not meant to provide commuter transportation therefore rides to and from home are not eligible.

Who 

  • Faculty and staff with Cornell issued AP/PO parking permit
  • Faculty and staff who do not have a Cornell AP/PO parking permit but do have a disability affecting transportation usage and/or mobility. Please contact OIETIX at accommodations@cornell.edu  or 607-255-2242 to become an approved rider.

Areas served 

All areas of the Ithaca Campus and nearby off-campus locations. All service is based upon availability and rides are not guaranteed until Red Runner confirms your reservation.   

When 

  • Red Runner will provide rides during their regular business hours, 7:45 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Advanced reservations are required. Service is subject to availability and are not guaranteed until your reservation is confirmed.

How to Sign Up 

  • If you currently hold a Cornell issued AP/PO parking permit, you are already enrolled, and no further action is required. If you do not have an AP/PO permit, but have a disability, contact OIETIX at accommodations@cornell.edu or 607-255-2242 for assistance.

How to Schedule a Ride

Eligible faculty and staff should call or email Red Runner at 607-254-8293 or redrunner@cornell.edu to request a ride. Requests should be made no later than 10:00 AM the business day before the ride is needed. All service is based upon availability and rides are not guaranteed until Red Runner confirms your reservation. Validation of eligibility must be made in advance of using the service. Because this service is also utilized with CU Lift, the transportation service for Students, please provide more than one day of notice. Cancellations may be made via phone or email, with at least a half hour notice, so driver’s schedule can be updated.
